Jeanette Rodriguez, Ph.D.
The members of Voices For Renewal are pleased to host
Jeanette Rodriguez, Ph.D., in Fort Worth, Saturday, April 27, 2013. She is
Professor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies of Seattle
University. She is a U.S. Hispanic Latina theologian, author of Our Lady of
Guadalupe: Faith and Empowerment Among Mexican American Women. She
co-authored Cultural Memory: Resistance, Faith and Identity.
Inspired by faith and the theologies of liberation, Dr. Rodriguez directs
her personal and professional commitments to the service of peace-building
and justice. This commitment takes the form of understanding, articulating
and offering the insights of the lived-faith experience of U.S. Latinos and
Latinas to the larger socio-political theological enterprise.
Additionally Dr Rodriguez is a licensed clinician dealing with family
systems, grief, trauma and is a diversity trainer. She has served as
Vice-chair of the National Board of Pax Christi and in 2002 she was the
recipient of the U. S. Catholic Award.
